People

The people in the books include the main characters, whose lives form the backbone of the story, as well as a host of other characters, major and minor. Some of these other characters are critical to the plot while others have "walk-on" parts. In order to balance the presentation I have provided a complete list of all minor characters while the most important characters have their own sections, covering several pages each:

• Marius - the Third Founder of Rome

• Caesar - last and greatest general of the Republic
